Hi, I'm Christie
Wife, girl mom, Delco native, engineer-turned-entrepreneur, and firm believer that flowers and spreadsheets are both capable of being works of art.
After earning my engineering degree from Villanova University, I spent several years designing and managing public-sector construction projects as a self-proclaimed real-life Leslie Knope. I loved building relationships with clients who didn’t necessarily speak the language of design and construction, untangling their big ideas and competing priorities. With a binder and a well-crafted PowerPoint I was unstoppable.
When a side project growing flowers intersected early motherhood and the girl boss hustle culture of the late 20teens, I traded my corporate career for small business ownership.
Today, I design florals for weddings and corporate events throughout the Mid-Atlantic and beyond. Still spreadsheet-fueled. Still tweaking workflows. Still obsessing over presentation. Good design matters. So does getting it there on time, on budget, and on brand.
When I’m not designing, you’ll find me growing flowers, serving as Snack Wench to our feral-but-cute kiddos, exploring breweries with my husband, looking for my phone, hyping up your next business idea or thrifting for that perfect I’ll-know-it-when-I-see-it gem.
What We Do
At Rooted Farmstead, we create seasonal, sustainable, and photo-worthy floral events and experiences for corporate events, private celebrations, galas, university events, brand activations, and institutional gatherings across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and the Mid-Atlantic region. We create intentional, memorable moments that guests actually experience—and remember.
Our clients benefit from a background that spans far beyond floral design. As a venue operator and community event host, I understand the importance of guest experience, clear communication, and creating an environment that works for the people moving through it. As an engineer and construction manager, I bring a practical understanding and deep respect of budget, scheduling, logistics, and constructability. And as a flower farmer, I have an intimate knowledge of the materials we work with—from seed to stem—along with a deep respect for seasonality, thoughtful sourcing, and sustainability.
Together, these perspectives shape how we approach every project. We bring creative ideas into the real world with careful planning, practical execution, and a clear understanding of what it takes to make a floral environment work beautifully within the larger event.
