We expanded our tulip plot by SIX TIMES this year, planting over SIX THOUSAND tulip bulbs in pinks, yellows, purples, reds and everything in between.
Exact timing is hard to predict since tulips bloom based on the weather. Our tulip bloom season is expected to last 2-3 weeks (again, depending on weather). We hope this will land on/around Mother’s Day weekend, but there are never guarantees. RSVP on Facebook to stay up to date on how the blooms are progressing.

What to Bring Sharp gardening clippers/scissors. Farm-appropriate shoes and clothing Sunscreen and bugspray - There is limited shade and it gets HOT Water bottles Bucket, tote or other container to keep your flowers upright on the drive home. Supervised children. We love kiddos and encourage you to bring them along! Just please remember this is both a working farm and our home, we ask that you be respectful of both. OPTIONAL: Vases or other vessels to arrange your flowers while you’re here. Picnic - Make the most of your time here, you are welcome to bring a picnic for you, your friends and family.
How it Works 1. Fill the supplied bag about half-way with water. 2. Cut your flower stems LONG, about the length from your wrist to your elbow 3. Very gently strip off the leaves from the lower portion of the stem, making sure to not crunch the stem in the process. Leaves should not sit in water (it will shorten the life of your flower!) 4. Please keep what you cut. We put a lot of hard work, effort and money into growing our blooms and wasted or discarded flowers hurt our small family business. Only pick what you are willing to pay for and even if you or your child picks flowers that may not be vase-worthy, we ask that you pay for them so that we can continue to offer this unique local event. 5. Pay for your flowers. We accept cash, Paypal and Venmo. 6. Feel free to sit down and arrange your flowers at our tables! We will have basic wrapping supplies (recycled newspaper, twine, stickers). Feel free to bring your own vases and create something beautiful while you’re here! 7. Take lots of pictures! Share them on social media tagging @rootedfarmstead and #rootedfarmstead hashtag!
Photographers We love hosting local photographers and their clients! Admission will be the same for both you and your clients as above. Private sessions outside of the advertised hours may be arranged, please contact us for scheduling.
