Mark and Christie are first-generation farmers who transplanted to Central PA from the Philadelphia suburbs in 2014.
After a few years into our careers, we had become what most would consider "successful" but like many others, we found ourselves unfulfilled, working long, unpredictable hours at the expense of our health and relationships.
When we decided it was finally time for a change, it only made sense to set our sights on pursuing new careers in a region that always brought us joy - Centre County, Pennsylvania. Mark had been attending Penn State Football games since birth and Christie spent many summer nights at a family camp in Snow Shoe.
One year after relocating nearly 200 miles from our hometowns to the Centre region, we thought it was time to "put down some roots" and find a little piece of land to call our own. Maybe someplace with an acre or two for the dogs...
Through an unlikely string of events, and with little agricultural background, we found ourselves the proud owners of a 14 acre former dairy farm a short drive from State College. Shortly after, Mark proposed in the Barn in June of 2015 kickstarting the restoration so we could host our own wedding in July 2016.
Fast forward to 2019, we now offer our restored barn to the community to celebrate life's happy moments. Our fresh produce has been featured on menus of local restaurants. And we welcomed the cutest little farm baby, Emmie, to the family.
Thanks for following us on this journey!
