We may be biased, but we think our property is a photographer's playground.
We encourage guests to take photos while they are here for public events and love partnering with local photographers for private sessions and styled shoots. We kindly ask that you tag us in any photos and social media using @rootedfarmstead and our hashtag #rootedfarmstead
With increasing requests for private photography sessions on the farm, we have implemented a Photography Policy. This new policy is intended to assist your experience as well as protect the hard work, effort and investment we put into our small family farm.
We are first a foremost a farm and private residence. Entrance onto the property is only permitted during public events and approved Private Sessions. Trespassing is unlawful and not permitted.
Photography During Public Events Photography during public events is permitted (and encouraged!). Regular admission is required for all guests, clients, photographers, and staff. No session Private Session Fees apply.
Private Sessions All Private Sessions must be scheduled, approved and paid for in advance.
Sessions are not considered Approved until the appointment has been confirmed by Rooted Farmstead, fees have been paid and signed Photography Policy and Agreement is received.
Fee: There is a $50 per hour fee for approved sessions. This includes all time on-site including set-up and breakdown. Fees are based on whole hour time slots.
How to Schedule Your Session: Read the Photography Policy. By scheduling a session, you agree to all terms of this Policy. Schedule your preferred date and time with us via email at rootedfarmstead@gmail.com at least two weeks in advance. The total fee and signed Photography Agreement are due within three (3) days of confirmation of date and availability. Payment must be paid via PayPal or Venmo (@rootedfarmstead). Signed Agreement must be emailed to rootedfarmstead@gmail.com Cancellations less than forty eight (48) hours of your reserved session date will be charged a $50 cancellation fee, which will be deducted from their total fee (exceptions are made for severe weather).
PHOTOGRAPHY POLICIES These policies apply to ALL individuals, professional and not, taking photos on the farm.
Access: Access to the property is only during public events and approved private appointments. Do not directly enter any planting beds or otherwise disturb flowers, vegetation, crops, displays, etc.
Parking: Photographers and their guests must park in designated areas. Do not block roads, buildings, driveways or farm equipment.
Liability: Photographers will be held accountable for their actions and those of clients, crew members and subjects. If the property is damaged including crops, Rooted Farmstead reserves the right to bill the photographer for damages. Rooted Farmstead assumes no responsibility for personal injury or loss, theft, or damage to equipment or other property. If you wish to pick flowers as part of your session please pay in advance.
General Policies
Be respectful and aware of the natural environment, equipment, other people, crops and our home.
Nothing may be picked and used during your session, unless paid for in advance. If you damage any flowers, crops, etc. you are expected to purchase them. Damaged crops hurt our small family business and will prevent us from offering this opportunity in the future.
Children must be supervised at all times. Any damaged crops are expected to be paid for by the photographer.
No areas may be closed or blocked to other visitors during a public event.
Stay off all equipment including and not limited to tractors, ladders, etc.
Do not enter the residence, neighboring properties, other farm structures, sheds, etc.
Do not enter or place anything in planting beds or soil.
No smoking or chewing tobacco is permitted on the property
No glitter, confetti, rice, silly string, fake flower petals, fake snow or other “tossing” items may be used. This is a nightmare to clean, contaminates our soil and is a danger to our animals.
Well-behaved dogs are allowed during Private Sessions, but must remain on-leash at all times and must be closely monitored to ensure they do not enter planting beds. Again, any damaged crops are expected to be paid for by the photographer. Waste must be removed & disposed of properly.
Rooted Farmstead reserves the right to halt any photography sessions deemed disruptive during public events.
We reserve the right to use publicly posted photographs taken on our property for commercial purposes of our own.
Our policies are subject to change without notice.
